A Portland birthday built around dancing, creating, and playing together
Updated November 5, 2026
The best girls birthday party ideas in Portland skip the venue search entirely: GameTruck brings a climate-controlled mobile game theater curb-side, loaded with games built for dancing, building, and racing as a group. No renting a hall, no hauling decorations, no cleanup afterward.
Clarissa and team have run GameTruck Portland since 2010, sending trucks out across Portland, Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Tigard, and nearby cities for birthdays built on group play rather than solo screen time. A certified GameCoach runs the whole event, so the birthday girl gets to actually be a guest at her own party instead of the one managing it.
Inside the theater, five gaming stations mean nobody sits out for long. Whether it's a dance-off in Just Dance, a build session in Minecraft, or a Mario Kart tournament, the GameCoach keeps everyone rotating through and having a turn.
Dance parties without the awkward silence
Just Dance turns a birthday into an instant dance floor. There's no skill requirement, no waiting around, and no one standing against the wall. Girls take turns or team up, the GameCoach queues up songs and keeps energy high, and because the theater is climate-controlled, nobody's worrying about rain or heat cutting the party short. It works for a group of best friends who all want the mic, or for a quieter kid who'd rather cheer from the sidelines for a round before jumping in herself.
Creative building and social sims for the planners and storytellers
Not every birthday girl wants competition. Minecraft creative mode and The Sims give kids room to build, decorate, and tell stories together instead of racing to win. It's a natural fit for friend groups who like designing dream houses, running a pretend town, or just narrating chaos together. The GameCoach helps set up shared worlds so friends can build side by side rather than each playing alone, which tends to be the actual point of the party.
Group racing and rotation-friendly favorites
Mario Kart keeps things moving fast, loud, and genuinely funny, which makes it a reliable anchor for a mixed group of guests with different gaming experience. With 100+ titles in the library and up to 18 guests inside the theater, the GameCoach can rotate racing rounds with calmer creative or dance sessions, so the party has real pacing instead of everyone crowding one screen the whole time.
“Carlen was amazing! So friendly, so kind and was so wonderful to my family and children. My son had such a great time and she made his party a success!”

Girls Birthday Party Questions. Answered.
How many girls can play at once in the mobile game theater?
Up to 18 guests are allowed inside the GameTruck gaming theater at a time. If the guest list runs bigger, the GameCoach helps set up a rotation so everyone gets time on the games.
What if the party is at an apartment or clubhouse instead of a house?
Gameplex - Switch is built for exactly that. It's a plug-and-play indoor setup run by a GameCoach, ideal for apartments, clubhouses, or conference rooms where the trailer can't go, and it fits up to 10 guests.
Is there an age minimum for the video game party?
Yes, the Video Games theater has a minimum age of 7. There's no upper age limit, and we ask that guests under 6 be accompanied by an adult.
Do you need a driveway to set up?
No driveway needed. We set up curb-side or in front of the home, on a flat, paved area, wherever the party is happening in Portland or the surrounding area.
